From concept to reality, “I Followed Him to the Studio But I was Too Late to Stop Him” chronicles the journey behind the creation of Tom Connell’s presentation at the Davines World Wide Hair Tour. We travel behind the scenes as Tom and his team—Nadina Ray, Allesandro Tammaro and Andrea Reiss—set out to create a magazine in five days time. Not only did the team craft intricate, art-inspired hairstyles that embody the themes of reflection and sustainability, but James Cox captured stunning motion images to augment the imagery on stage and created a heist-inspired short film that opened Tom’s show. Attendees left with a gorgeous glossy magazine with all the looks, creating a lasting, tangible memento.

Tom Connell is a hairdresser who’s style is made up of unique pieces which tell their own stories outside the concept of fashion.
In 2009 Tom relocated to London to work with the iconic Trevor Sorbie, after 6 years Tom was made International Artistic Director of the brand traveling the world heading up shows & photographic campaigns.
In parallel to this Tom continues to produce personal art projects & editorial stories with the aim of discovering what’s possible with hair. Building characters, stories and concepts with the aim of moving the conversation in hairdressing forward.
In 2019 Tom joined the Italian B Corp hair care brand Davines as their Art Director, responsible for photographic campaigns and directing the hair identity of the brand.
